i4Challenge 2020 in cooperation Upper Rhine 4.0

As part of the Industry 4.0 fair in Mulhouse (BE 4.0), BaselArea.swiss is organizing the i4Challenge, an acceleration program for SME, startups and new projects focused on innovative solutions, new approaches and next-generation products or services for Industry 4.0 transformation.

Have you developed innovative solutions, novel approaches and sophisticated products in the field of Industry 4.0? Then we would like to get to know you.

Through the i4Challenge, BaselArea.swiss offers you a platform for your product or service, as well as access to partners and customers in the cross-border region, giving you the ideal opportunity to test your product in a real environment and receive feedback from experts.

A renowned jury from the industry evaluates the submitted projects. Up to six applicants make it to the final round.

What we look for

The i4Challenge is broken up into three tracks:

  • SME with sustainable industry 4.0 solutions or services
  • Startups with existing Industry 4.0 solutions or services
  • New Ideas in cooperation with the Canton of Jura: open to student projects of universities of applied sciences and universities, intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs, tech teams, spin-offs, and R&D projects of companies.

Eligible are applications from Switzerland, Alsace, and Baden-Württemberg, which can demonstrate a prototype or a product.

Benefits to help foster successful commercial launch and business success of Industry 4.0 projects including:

  • An exhibition space at the BE 4.0 trade fair in Mulhouse
  • Exposure through BaselArea.swiss online channels
  • Access to the BaselArea.swiss Industry 4.0 network of experts, innovators, businesses, investors and more
  • Mentoring from industry experts
  • Access to a co-working space for six months in one of our three Switzerland
  • Innovation Park Basel Area sites
  • Possibility to appear as key note speaker at one of our events
  • A free one-year membership to the Société Industrielle de Mulhouse (SIM)
  • Privileged access to the network and activities of the partners of the Interreg Upper Rhine 4.0 project.

New idea track:

Benefits to help to bring their idea to market readiness, including:

  • Access the BaselArea.swiss network
  • Preferential access to the network and to the activities of the partners of the Interreg Upper Rhine 4.0 project
  • Tailor-made mentoring from industry experts
  • Funding for further development of the idea
  • Access to a co-working space for six months at the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area Site Jura

About BE 4.0 Fair for industry 4.0 in Mulhouse

Salon Industries du Futur BE 4.0 is one of the most important meeting places for European Industry 4.0 solution providers and interested parties. The fair offers a platform for 180 Swiss, French and German companies to present their latest innovations in the field of Industry 4.0. Over 3,500 visitors are expected on both days.
